Verizon stores in the South Bend and Elkhart region are giving away hundreds of free backpacks on Sunday, July 26, helping make back-to-school easier and more affordable for Michiana families.
According to a press release, Verizon-authorized retailer Round Room, LLC is hosting its 14th annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway event, starting at 1 p.m. on July 26, welcoming families at more than 1,200 stores nationwide. Round Room has provided more than 1.5 million students with a backpack since the event’s first year.
This year, Round Room will give out over $3 million worth of backpacks to students across the country, and any leftover backpacks are donated to local schools of each store’s choice.
