VILLANOVA, Pa. — The Illinois State Redbirds meet the Villanova Wildcats in the semifinals of the Football Championship Series playoffs today at Villanova Stadium.
Coach Brock Spack and Illinois State (11-4) are unseeded, coming off two upsets over No. 1 North Dakota State and No. 8 UC Davis. Villanova (12-2) has pulled off two upsets of its own, over No. 5 Lehigh and No. 4 Tarleton State.
The winner advances to the FCS championship game, set for Jan. 5, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. No. 2 Montana State meets No. 3 Montana in the other semifinal, set for 3 p.m. Saturday.
