ROCKFORD, IL — Two Rockford residents are facing charges of first-degree murder after police say they shot and killed a Rockford man in a gas station parking lot.
According to a news release from the Rockford Police Department, the shooting took place about 11:10 p.m. Sept. 7 in the parking lot of Stop-N-Go, 2211 Charles St.
In the release, police state officer arrived on the scene to find a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and died from his injury.
Police identified the suspects as Ladavion Crawford, 18, of Rockford, and Madison Shackleford, 20, of Rockford. Both were arrested and taken to the Winnebago County Jail on charges of first-degree murder.
The Winnebago County Coroner’s office has identified the victim as Isaiah Locke of Rockford.
An autopsy confirmed that Locke died from a gunshot wound, the release states.
