T.J. Edwards explains how Bears have changed under Ben Johnson

In their last two wins, the Chicago Bears have not only gotten over .500 on the season, but they’ve also showed a different narrative around the team.

The Bears have won their last two games in the final moments of the fourth quarter, after battling throughout the entirety of the game, never laying down for their opponents when trailing. Whether it was blocking a field goal against the Las Vegas Raiders or booting the game-winner against the Washington Commanders.

Veteran linebacker T.J. Edwards, who has been a leader for this team since signing with Chicago prior to the 2023 season, has seen a big change in the team under Ben Johnson. On Tuesday, Edwards opened up on the final moments against the Commanders, how no one on the team appeared to lose faith as the team clawed their way back for a victory.

“I think this year more than anything, no matter which way the game was kind of flowing at the time, no one was flinching,” Edwards said on 670 the Score. “We all expected to win. You can kind of feel a calmness on the sideline that we’re going to get back in this and make a play. When the offense had the ball, we knew they were going to drive and give us a chance to win. That’s more kind of the shift we’re having, showing ourselves that we can go win these big time games, and win them when we’re not playing our best either. That’s big for our confidence.”

The Bears are not short of confidence as they ride a three-game winning streak right now, and the belief the players have among themselves. Head coach Ben Johnson has quickly changed the culture inside the locker room and on the field, and although it’s early, the results are proving to speak for themselves.
