Illinois’ favorite hot dog chain Portillo’s is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with a new flavor-packed frank.
Available for a limited time starting today, the Char’diniera Dog is the product of a new Portillo’s and Vienna Beef partnership.
What’s in Portillo’s new Char’diniera Dog?
The new char-grilled beef hot dog is infused with giardiniera and provolone cheese, giving it a “medium heat, rich cheesiness and a smoky char finish,” according to Portillo’s.
It can be served multiple ways, including Maxwell-style, topped with yellow mustard and grilled onions.
The dog can also be served in a classic Chicago-style, topped with mustard, relish, onion, tomato, celery salt, sport peppers and pickle.
Portillo’s fans can otherwise order the Char’diniera Dog plain or with any toppings of their choice.
How much does the Char’diniera Dog cost?
The new hot dog’s price varies by location.
For example, both the Chicago-style and Maxwell-style dogs are listed at $5.49 in Chicago and $4.99 in Peoria and Springfield.
Portillo’s celebrates National Hot Dog Week with $1 dogs
From July 14-16, Portillo’s is also rewarding Perks members with a $1 hot dog for National Hot Dog Week.
The deal is available with any purchase of $5 or more.
