Pedestrian killed in fatal Boone County crash remains unidentified

Boone County Sheriff’s Department deputies are investigating a fatal June 28 pedestrian crash in the area of U.S. Route 20, east of Shattuck Road.

A 2002 Freightliner truck was travelling eastbound when a pedestrian was struck. The truck driver remained at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with an investigation, according to a Boone County Sheriff’s news release.

The pedestrian has not been identified.

He is described as being between 40 and 50 years old, about 6-feet tall, between 225 and 250 pounds and no tattoos. He was wearing khaki shorts and a blue t-shirt at the time of the accident.
