Sloane Supper & Social is now open in Peoria Heights – serving steaks, house-made pastas, supper club inspired cocktails, nostalgic desserts and other Americana cuisine.
Cody Scogin, chef and owner of Ardor Hospitality, said the eatery received “a lot of positive feedback” during soft openings, with guests enjoying a “pretty good variety” of dishes served.
“The feedback was that it felt new and different from what we are doing downtown,” he said. Scogin also owns Ardor Breads and Provisions − recognized by USA TODAY − at 301 SW Water St. in Downtown Peoria.
Soon after, Scogin noted, “We know there’s things that we need to figure out over the coming weeks and we plan to do so, but I think all in all, it went very well.”
Situated at 4500 N. Prospect Road in Peoria Heights, Sloane Supper & Social will operate from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Eventually, Scogin said the restaurant may expand its hours of operation.
Reservations are strongly recommended, but the restaurant will accept walk-ins when possible. Reservations can be made online at https://www.exploretock.com/sloane-supper–social-peoria-heights.
‘Our take on the familiar’
The menu at Sloane Supper & Social features a variety of starters, entrees and desserts.
“We kind of refer to it as our take on the familiar,” Scogin said. “It’s a steakhouse inspired supper club of sorts, but we’re kind of leaning into that Americana cuisine with obviously with our spin on it.”
During soft openings, he said nearly every guest ordered “a classic steakhouse starter” – house-made rolls with whipped honey butter for $14.
Starters such as crab cake, shrimp toast and pig in a blanket are also available. Along with this, the menu boasts an “on the rocks” selection with dishes such as:
For entrees, the menu boasts dishes like duck breast for $44 and pan-roasted chicken for $39. Customers can also find a selection of house-extruded pasta dishes, Scogin said, with the menu featuring options such as beef stroganoff, spaghetti Limone with clams and rigatoni and lobster.
Scogin said “a lot of love” has gone into the steak selection. Along with a couple a la carte options, steak dishes include:
When it comes to dessert, Scogin said diners will find “our interpretations of the classics.” Baked Alaska and a skillet cookie made using Ardor’s dark chocolate sea salt rye cookie and topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate fudge are two after-dinner delights listed on the menu.
Also available is the Sloane sundae, which Scogin described as a “seasonal signature.” Currently, the dish boasts vanilla bean ice cream with curacao caramel, orange, luxardo cherry and pecan for $16.
At the bar, Scogin said cocktails lean into a “supper club mentality.”
He said the supper and social old fashioned has proven itself to be “a huge hit.” Other cocktails include an aviation, an ice-cold martini and a spritz. A wine selection is also offered.
“I think it’s one of those places that, you know, a cocktail is definitely a great way to start,” he said.
‘It’s all in the works’
Sloane Supper & Social is only one piece of the puzzle for Ardor Hospitality in Peoria Heights.
Scogin aims to open Bodega by Ardor in the coming month. He said the space will be “familiar to Ardor but our own interpretation of it” with a large focus on deli sandwiches. While it will be located on the main level like Sloane, it will operate independently.
Upstairs, The Fitz is expected to open in the space once home to the 12 Bar. The goal, Scogin said, is to begin operating in June.
“It’s all in the works,” Scogin said. “We’re getting some really great people on board with the brand, which makes it all possible. Just really building a special team. So, hoping to see it all come together well, while maintaining the quality.”
