We are being hypnotized by a massive psychological bluff hidden behind a deceptive piece of corporate branding: “Artificial Intelligence.”
There is nothing intelligent about these automated structures. True intelligence is reflective, historical, and deeply tied to the human spirit. A binary system built on ones and zeros cannot navigate the messy gray areas of human existence. We must replace their marketing jargon with an honest description: High-Speed Algorithmic Plagiarism (HAP).
This is plagiarism as an existential violation. These systems do not create; they act as a parasite on human consciousness. They siphon the vast, generational reservoir of human suffering, love, and philosophical wrestling — the fruits of the human soul — and treat it as raw material to be mined, homogenized and sold back to us as transactional commodities.
The physical manifestation of this parasitic growth is spreading across our landscape in the form of massive data centers. Just as the machine in the classic film “Forbidden Planet” uncritically materialized the primitive, chaotic instincts of its hosts, these data centers mine the collective internet without moral reflection. Furthermore, they consume the planet—diverting millions of gallons of local water and terawatts of electricity away from the common good to generate corporate profit.
We must refuse to grant these machines the dignity of “intelligence.” Calling this technology what it is —a parasite built upon high-speed algorithmic plagiarism — is the first vital step in stopping the robbery of the human soul.
