PEORIA – Following a soft opening, American Kolache expects to hold its grand opening on Dec. 11.
The bakery – situated at 1618 Knoxville Ave. – serves dinner-roll sized pastries called kolaches. Sweet and savory options are available.

Hours of operation are from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
“I’m just really excited to get this done, get open and see if people love it,” franchise owner Melanie Wolf told the Journal Star in September.
The brand began in 2015 as St. Louis Kolache. Since then, it has expanded to include multiple locations in and out of the St. Louis area.
