Nationally known restaurant closes in Peoria after more than two decades

After more than two decades in Peoria, the IHOP at 5012 N. Big Hollow Road has closed.

A local franchisee confirmed the closure in a statement to the Journal Star, and added:

“We greatly appreciate our neighbors’ patronage for the past 23 years and look forward to continuing to serve them at our location in Bloomington, IL.”

No specific reason for the shutdown was provided.

The Bloomington storefront – which is now the closest location to Peoria – is situated more than 40 miles away at 2109 E. Empire St.
