PEORIA – Dozer Park hopes to hit a home run with eight new menu items this season.
New items include Illinois staples like Italian beef, as well as more inventive options such as the BBQ mac sandwich and funnel cake fries.
“Our food staff really tries to make an effort to, you know, keep the menus fresh, cycle new things, try new ideas,” said Larry Larson, broadcaster and director of media relations, “because food is such a big part of the baseball experience.”
The food will be found at various stands throughout the stadium and will be available starting Tuesday, April 7 – when the Peoria Chiefs face off against the South Bend Cubs for the team’s home opener.
New dishes at Dozer Park include:
Visitors will also find various combos at the park. This includes a hot dog and drink combo for $8; two sodas and popcorn for $10.25; a snack combo with two candies, popcorn and two sodas for $27.50 and a four-pack combo featuring four hot dogs, four sodas and two popcorns for $40.
The goal, food and beverage director Toby Marshall said, is to make the experience “a little more family-friendly” and affordable.
