How Piper Gilles & partner did in Olympic ice dancing competition

Rockford native Piper Gilles is now an Olympic medalist. She and her partner Paul Poirier were awarded the bronze medal in ice dancing as they competed for Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympic games in Milan.

Gilles and Poirier placed third in the rhythm dancing part of the competition on Monday. They skated again on Wednesday in the finals of the competition, placing third overall and winning the bronze medal.

The gold medal went to France’s Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron with a score of 225.82.

Silver went to Team USA’s Madison Chock and Evan Bates who scored 224.39.

Gilles and Poirier, who skate for Team Canada, scored 217.74.
