SPRINGFIELD – Let it snow, or have you had enough?
The capital city is predicted to get another two to four inches of snow this weekend.
In anticipation, the City of Springfield has declared a Snow Emergency starting Saturday at 7 a.m., and ending Dec. 16 at noon.
The City says residents must remove all parked vehicles from marked snow emergency routes by tonight, Dec. 12 at 11 p.m.
“This decision has been made in anticipation of the snowstorm that is set to bring a large amount snowfall,” a news release read from Director of Communications Amanda Brown.
During a winter storm, residents can call the Office of Public Works to report any problems or concerns at 217-789-2246.
On Dec. 11, Springfield saw anywhere from an inch and a half to three and a half inches of snow, according to Snowfall Reports from the National Weather Service.

The chance of snow in Springfield Saturday is 90%, with new accumulation of two to four inches possible, according to the weather service’s Detailed Forecast.
Saturday night will see a low around -5 degrees, with wind chill values between -10 and -20, with gusts as high as 18 mph.
Sunday will see a high near 6 degrees, and winds could gust as high as 17 mph.
