Your vote can help West Palm Beach retake "Best Farmers Market" award

A perennial powerhouse in the world of farmers markets, the West Palm Beach GreenMarket has once again been nominated for the USA TODAY 10Best “Best Farmers Market” award.

Boasting an impressive 150 vendors and attended by thousands each week, the beloved Saturday morning event in downtown West Palm Beach will attempt to retake the throne as the nation’s best.

Though a respectable runner-up the past two years, the West Palm Beach GreenMarket once reined supreme and ruled the farmers market world from the top spot from 2021 to 2023. It is the only market to have held the top spot for three consecutive years.

West Palm Beach was supplanted in 2024 and 2025 by Worthington Farmers Market in Worthington, Ohio and Soda City Market in Columbia, South Carolina, respectively.

A USA TODAY 10Best panel of travel experts has named the West Palm Beach GreenMarket to the top 20 farmers’ markets, and now it’s up to the public to select the nation’s 10 best.

This is where those 7,000 to 10,000 weekly attendees can rally to the market’s cause and help by voting for the treasured event.

“We boast one-of-a-kind vendors and small businesses that fuel our community pride, with our beautiful West Palm Beach Waterfront as the backdrop. Our market is more than a place to shop; it is a destination. We encourage everyone to help us on that trajectory by voting daily so we can reclaim the top spot,”  said Angela Poco, the city’s marketing and community events manager.

Supporters can, and are encouraged, to vote at 10best.usatoday.com in the category of ‘farmers market’ once daily online now through Monday, April 13 at 11:59 a.m. EDT.

The top 10 will be announced on Wednesday, April 22.

“We are thrilled to be considered among the best farmers’ markets again,” said West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James. “This has been a banner year for the GreenMarket, with a record number of 150 vendors and its longest season to date running into late May.”

The West Palm Beach GreenMarket started in 1995 with 13 vendors and was the brainchild of then West Palm Beach mayor Nancy Graham. She was inspired by the public markets she had recently visited in Europe and envisioned a gathering place not only for buying fresh produce from local farmers, but saw it as a way for residents, friends and neighbors to gather and interact.
