When LPT plays, you’re going to dance whether you want to or not. Maybe it’s just a toe tap or a barely perceptible sway, but there’s no chance you’re sitting still.
The salsa band got its start 11 years ago in Riverside, so it’s appropriate that they’re headlining a concert Saturday night at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, right there on Riverside Avenue. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and music starts at 6:30 p.m. Snacks, beer, wine and cocktails will be available. Tickets are $60; $45 for museum members.
Last year, LPT put out a new song each month for 10 months to celebrate a decade together and played a series of Salsa Sunday shows at the old Intuition Ale Works. The 10-member band regularly tours throughout Florida and the Southeast. They released a new album, “Agua,” last year. Info: cummermuseum.org
Yacht rock
7:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, at the Florida Theatre. $57-$84.
It’s not clear when “yacht rock” became its own genre, but Pablo Cruise (“Love Will Find a Way”), Orleans (“Still the One”) and David Pack’s former band Ambrosia (“You’re the Biggest Part of Me”) have become some of its biggest stars. ‘The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants’

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Check out the 2025 SpongeBob feature film on the high-def video board at the ballpark where the Jumbo Shrimp play their home games. Lonestar
7 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at the Florida Theatre. $60-$107.
Nine number-one singles could make for a pretty good show, but Lonestar’s been throwing some unlikely cover songs into their sets lately (Adele?) to keep things interesting. Be sure to show up early, because Jacksonville’s Katie O opens the show.
