WTGL adds six LPGA players for its inaugural season

The first-year WTGL now has five of the top 10 players in the world for its inaugural season expected to start later this year at Sofi Center in Palm Beach Gardens.

TMRW Sports has announced commitments from six additional LPGA players – while unveiling the brand identity for the WTGL, which will complement the TGL and was created in partnership with the Ladies Professional Golf Association.

The newly announced players are Celine Boutier, six-time LPGA Tour winner; major champion; Andrea Lee, No. 24 in the world; LPGA Tour winner; Minjee Lee, No. 7 in the world; three-time major champion; Danielle Kang, six-time LPGA Tour winner; major champion; Megan Khang, LPGA Tour winner; four-time Solheim Cup team member; and Albane Valenzuela, three-time Olympian.

The additions bring WTGL’s current roster of committed players to 14, including five of the top 10 players in the world. Collectively, the group represents eight countries, 92 LPGA Tour victories and 12 major championships.

“WTGL continues to build momentum as a global platform for LPGA stars and women’s team golf,” said Pete Jung, Chief Marketing Officer of TMRW Sports. “With today’s brand reveal and 14 LPGA Tour players now committed — including major champions, Olympians and Solheim Cup players from around the world — this milestone underscores the excitement we’re seeing from players, team ownership groups and potential partners as we prepare for WTGL’s inaugural season.”

WTGL also unveiled its logo on May 4 at a reception for WTGL players at the LPGA Tour’s Mizuho Americas Open.

WTGL previously announced Arthur M. Blank and AMB Sports and Entertainment and Alexis Ohanian with Los Angeles Golf Club as WTGL’s first two ownership groups. Coincidentally, Blank’s Atlanta Drive and Ohanian’s LA Golf Club have won the first two TGL seasons, respectively.
