FORT PIERCE — Police are investigating an April 28 shooting at Cash Out Gold and Silver that left a woman dead, according to officials.
Police reported responding about 7:12 p.m. April 28 to a 911 call in which the caller reported seeing a person on the floor inside covered in blood.
The business is in the 4600 block of South U.S. 1 between West Midway and West Weatherbee roads. It’s listed as being open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators reported finding a woman on the floor with blood around her.
Police stated their investigation revealed two men entered the business, and encountered the woman.
One of the men shot her “multiple times, subsequently killing her and then fleeing the scene.”
The name of the deceased was not immediately released April 29.
On the morning of April 29, there were no signs of law enforcement activity at the business located in front of Easy Livin’ R.V. Park on the west side of U.S. 1.
Meanwhile, Brad Wilson, 65, who has a lawn business, pulled up in a truck. He said he lives in the R.V. park and was working on a lawnmower the previous day and saw law enforcement officers.
“Then I came up here and there was 50-60 police officers surrounding this place,” Wilson said. “Yellow tape was around it all the way around.”
He said he didn’t know the individuals in the store. He had asked people what happened, and they didn’t know. He said police were at the scene for several hours.
“I didn’t know if somebody got robbed (or) why they shot him,” Wilson said.
