Will Florida State's recievers be the highlight of the team in 2026?

The Florida State Seminoles are looking to bounce back after back-to-back sub-.500 seasons, and they hope that Ashton Daniels’ throwing or handing the ball off to the skill position players will be the focal point of their offense.

FSU’s wide receiver core has been praised for its potential in 2026, with names like Duce Robinson and Micahi Danzy in the conversation for the best duo in the country. Lindy’s Sports recently ranked FSU’s wide receiver core as the seventh-best in the country, which is the second-best in the ACC.

Lindy’s analysis of the strengths of the team is as follows:

FSU has a 1,000-yard receiver (Robinson) and a 1,000-yard rusher (Wisner, at Texas in 2024) plus a track star in Danzy. There’s no shortage of talent around the quarterback. FSU needed to retain its defensive stars — the Desir twins and defensive backs like Ashlynd Barker and Rawls — and was able to do so.

They weren’t shy about the potential weaknesses of the team either, saying:

The “ifs” begin up front with a new-look offensive line filled with transfers, including LT Xavier Chaplin (a three-year starter at Auburn and Virginia Tech). The defensive front lacks a proven edge rusher, although Kennedy had an impressive spring.

Mike Norvell and company are hoping that Daniels, the offensive line, the receiving core, and everyone in between can help the Seminoles to get back to their first bowl game appearance since 2023, but even that should be treated as the floor rather than the end goal.

Florida State opens its 2026 season hosting the New Mexico State Aggies in Tallahassee on Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. ET. Fans can catch the game on the CW Network.
