Coming off a sorely needed victory over the very good Wake Forest Demon Deacons, the Florida State Seminoles find themselves back at .500 and gearing up to face the Clemson Tigers, who are 3-5.
There is no love lost between these two rivals, as Florida State and Clemson have faced each other since 1970. In the last 10 games, Florida State is 2-8 against the Tigers, with the only two victories coming in 2014 and 2023, both ACC championship-winning seasons for FSU.
When asked about his thoughts going into Clemson week, head coach Mike Norvell responded, “You go to a hostile environment against a team that it’s always going to be a big game when these two programs clash. For us, we know the challenge in front of us, we know the talent of the team we are playing, and the skill of the coaches we are going against.”
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney equally understood the importance of this game: “Both teams are kind of similar in a lot of ways in that we’ve both had some hard-fought losses throughout our season, but all that goes out the window Saturday night, it’s Clemson-Florida State.”
