When is Miami vs Stanford? Time, date, TV, prediction for Week 9 game

Miami football suffered its first setback of the 2025 college football season. If they still want a shot at the College Football Playoff, the Hurricanes can’t afford to slip up this weekend against Stanford.

UM fell behind early against Louisville and could never claw out in a 24-21 loss at home. Carson Beck had far and away his worst game as a Hurricane with no touchdowns and four interceptions while Mark Fletcher and company could muster only 63 rushing yards. At 5-1 (1-1 in conference), Miami no longer controls its destiny in qualifying for the ACC championship game.

Meanwhile, beleaguered Stanford improved to 3-4 (2-2) thanks to a 20-13 win over Florida State. Quarterback Ben Gulbranson left the game early with a knee injury with redshirt freshman Elijah Brown finishing off the win by going 6 of 12 for 71 scoreless and turnover-less yards.

The Hurricanes and Cardinal kick off at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium.

Miami vs Stanford prediction

On paper, this shouldn’t be close. Stanford ranks 16th out of 17 ACC teams by scoring 19 points per game and totaling 327.7 yards per game. They’re dead last in allowing 422 yards per game with the No. 16 pass defense at 304.7 ypg. The Cardinal are 0-4 on the road and have been outscored 82-30 in their two conference road games (at Virginia and SMU). And to top it off, Stanford could be heading into Hard Rock Stadium with their No. 2 quarterback making his first start. Rueben Bain and the Miami defense did a good job of containing Louisville’s dynamic offense overall, and Stanford doesn’t have anyone nearly as explosive as Isaac Brown or Chris Bell. Prediction: Miami 48, Stanford 9
