Weather has played a huge factor at the 2026 PGA Championship, but not because of any rain like we saw last year at Quail Hollow. No, wind has been the biggest bugaboo among players at Aronimink throughout the weekend, with drives proving difficult to control as gusts up to 25 mph have taken hard-hit balls in unexpected places.
That’s a key reason why no one has yet to separate from the pack. Scores got a big help early in Saturday’s third round when the winds changed to a southward trajectory, but by the afternoon they were right back to blowing to the north and making things tricky.
There’s promising news on that front heading into today’s final round: The National Weather Service and AccuWeather agree that winds should be at their most mild. And when the leaders take to the course in the afternoon, it should be the more favorable southwest winds blowing on what should be a gorgeous Sunday outside Philadelphia.
