Across Florida this year, Walmart stores are getting a major makeover, bringing a new look and feel to the shopping experience.
On April 16, the retail giant announced plans to remodel 58 locations in the Sunshine State “as part of ongoing efforts to modernize the in-store and digital shopping experience.” The upgrades will introduce redesigned layouts, enhanced technology, and expanded services aimed at making shopping faster and more convenient, with delivery available in as little as an hour for many customers.
In the Jacksonville area, there are over 18 Walmart locations, but only two will be selected for this round of upgrades. It’s part of the company’s larger plan to revamp more than 650 Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets nationwide by the end of 2026. Walmart also noted that it has invested $1.5 billion into store improvements across Florida over the past five years.
Here’s which Jacksonville-area Walmart locations will be getting a makeover, and what to expect.
Why is Walmart getting a makeover?
“Walmart has been part of the communities across Florida for generations,” said Nick Berkeley, a senior vice president for Walmart. “By modernizing our store, we’re making shopping easier, whether customers are walking the aisles, picking up an order on the go, or having essentials delivered when life gets busy. We’re proud of our legacy here and look forward to helping families save time and live better every day.”
