The high school lacrosse season is officially under way, with preseason games making way for regular season competition on Monday, February 9.
Two of Palm Beach county’s best boys programs will hope to return to the state championship, while other local teams look to begin their seasons on the right foot in the pursuit of state glory.

Now, we’re turning things over to you to help us narrow down who the Preseason Player of the Year should be.
Cast your vote below for who you believe will be Palm Beach County’s MVP this season.
Voting will be open until Wednesday, Feb. 18 at noon.
Scooter Barrett, Jr., St. Andrew’s
Scooter Barrett, a Penn commit, contributed 13 goals, 11 assists, and 24 ground balls last year for St. Andrew’s, helping them to a state championship appearance.
Gavin Chandler, Sr., Cardinal Newman
A Mercyhurst University commit, Gavin Chandler teamed up with Logan Wheeler to run Cardinal Newman’s midfield last year. With Wheeler having graduated, Chandler could very well expand upon his 39 goals and 25 assists from last season.
Jake Ivancevic, Sr., Benjamin
Jake Ivancevic returns as a senior after leading the Buccaneers defense, often shadowing top guys. He contributed 59 ground balls as well as a number of takeaways, further adding 12 goals on offense.
Tatum Little, Sr., Benjamin
A Queen signee, Tatum Little helped lead Benjamin to a state title last year with .559 save percentage against some of the country’s elite competition. He at at his best in an impressive playoff run.
Gavin Meyers, Sr., Jupiter
Gavin Meyers ran Jupiter’s midfield last year, contributing on both sides of the ball. The Hofstra University commit totaled 25 goals and 19 assists and will return with hopes of guiding the Warriors to state title contention in his senior year.
Peyton Norris, Sr., St. John Paul II Academy
Peyton Norris was the only player at St. John Paul II to crack 100 points, as the Queens commit contributed 73 goals and 30 assists. He’ll return in his senior year looking to help the Eagles find further breakthroughs in perhaps the state’s toughest district and region.
Will Stumm, Jr., Cardinal Newman
A Long Island University commit, Will Stumm paced Cardinal Newman with 126 ground balls last year, adding 88 takeaways as one of the county’s top defensive playmakers.
Nick Testa, Sr., St. Andrew’s
Nick Testa, a Johns Hopkins commit, was effectively the engine for a stellar St. Andrew’s attack last year. Testa led the Scots (and the county) with 120 assists, with his 43 goals brining up his point total to an impressive 163.
