TCPalm Girls Athlete of the Week – Jan. 19-24
Basketball: Eklessia Anderson, Sebastian River – The junior averaged 15.7 points during three Sharks wins.
Wrestling: Caitlin Bohrer, Fort Pierce Central – The junior won first place at the 120-pound weight class during the George Mulligan Memorial tournament.
Girls Weightlifting: Sarah Castanon, Vero Beach – Helping Vero win team district titles in Olympic and Traditional competition, the senior won both titles at the 154-pound weight class.
Wrestling: Khloe Cook, Sebastian River – The freshman won first place at the 120-pound weight class during the Greyhound Open.
Soccer: Lyanna Diaz, Martin County – The sophomore scored two goals and added three assists during the Tigers’ district semifinal win against Olympic Heights.
Soccer: Mareli Farias, South Fork – The senior had a hat trick and dished out three assists during the Bulldogs’ district semifinal win against Legacy.
Wrestling: Kailani Hasenauer, Sebastian River – The freshman won first place at the 100-pound weight class during the Greyhound Open.
Soccer: Cailen Jones, South Fork – The junior scored four goals and added an assist during the Bulldogs’ district semifinal win against Legacy.
Basketball: Brianna Matthews, Lincoln Park Academy – The junior averaged 15.5 points during a pair of Greyhounds victories.
Basketball: Janiyah Nicolas, Port St. Lucie – The junior put up 26 points, five rebounds, four assists and eight steals during the Jaguars’ win over Morningside Academy.
