Schools can nominate honorees for this new award by 7 p.m. on the final Saturday of each month. Voting closes at 11 a.m. Monday.

Here are the candidates for October 2025.

Gulf Breeze volleyball

The Lady Dolphins went 9-1, winning their seventh straight district title before falling to Oviedo in the Region 1-6A final.

Jay volleyball

The Royals won their first district title in 30 years, snapping Baker’s streak of 22 straight district titles. They then won their first regional playoff game since 2020 before falling to Chipley in the Rural Region 1 final.

Pace football

The Patriots went 5-0, winning by an average of 23.6 points per game and repeating as District 1-6A champions. Pace started the month with a 20-18 at defending rural state champion Madison County, and scored more points in each successive game.

Pensacola Catholic volleyball

The Crusaders went on a revenge tour to win the Region 1-3A title and advance to the state semifinals for the first time since 2015.

They won at Florida High in the regional semifinals, avenging a home loss to the Seminoles in the same round a year ago. They followed that up by pulling off a reverse sweep of North Bay Haven in the regional final after the Buccaneers beat them in district finals in 2024 and 2025.

Pensacola Christian cross country

The Warriors swept the team and individual titles at the Zarzaur-Running Wild Esca-Rosa Championship. Junior Isaiah Manderson won the boys individual title while senior Jaimee Tutton won the girls individual title.

Tate boys golf

The Aggies captured their first district title in program history at the District 1-3A championship on Oct. 27 at Stonebrook Golf Club in Pace.

West Florida girls swimming

The Jaguars won their fourth straight district title at the District 1-2A championship on Oct. 22. Seniors Taylor Clements (50-yard freestyle, 100 breaststroke) and Avery Witte (100 freestyle, 100 butterfly) won individual events, and West Florida also won the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay.
