High school girls basketball season is officially back in the Gainesville area.
The area’s top finisher last year— Gainesville High — is in a massive state of transition with a new coach and the departure of Jayden Terry and Jamison Caldwell. Buchholz has some key pieces, but the Bobcats remain young. Newberry is a district champion as well and hungry to advance.
In Rural, Willie Powers brings back most of Williston’s core, and Hawthorne has a new coach in Shelia Jackson with Cornelius Ingram’s retirement.
