The FSU Seminoles have signed Oklahoma State kicker Gabe Panikowski, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. He did not play for the Cowboys last season after joining them ahead of the season, after an excellent season at Idaho State.
Panikowski won the Fred Mitchell Award as the nation’s top non-FBS collegiate kicker and made multiple FCS All-America teams in 2023 after making all 15 of his field goals and 44 of his 47 extra points. He made a career long 55-yards, and 23 of his 38 kickoffs went for touchbacks.
The Seminoles are replacing starter Jake Weinberg and his backup Brunno Reus after both entered the transfer portal following the 2025 season. They will also have a new special teams coach after John Papuchis left to join Missouri’s coaching staff, where Reus has since joined him.
Panikowski spent the 2023 season at Riverside City College, making 15 of 21 field goal attempts and 67 of his 72 extra points. He was at Sacramento State in 2022, serving as a kickoff specialist as a true freshman, and caused 17 touchbacks on 48 attempts.
He is originally from San Diego, California, and visited the Seminoles last week before visiting the Cal Golden Bears on Monday. He is the only kicker on FSU’s roster, and they could bring in another kicker to add depth to the room.
