(Editor’s note: This story has been updated to correct Friday’s weather. The tee times for Round 3 of the 2025 U.S. Open were posted early Saturday, shortly after the conclusion of Round 2.)
Golfers and fans alike at the 2025 U.S. Open are hoping to stay dry through the weekend at Oakmont.
Weather warnings went up during Friday’s second round, and the rainclouds eventually stopped play on cut day. The bigger test will come today and Sunday, when the chance of rain is over 80%.
However, the forecast is actually a little better than it was earlier in the week, according to AccuWeather. The precipitation percentages are roughly the same, but the chance of thunderstorms is notably less than the 35-40% odds they were as recently as Thursday.
If all it does is rain, the U.S. Open will likely play through it unless it starts pooling, especially on the greens. AccuWeather predicts 0.16 inches of rain over the course of 2 hours today, so there is hope that we’ll get through moving day.
