Traffic Talk: I-75 ramp in Collier County will close overnight on this date and time

It’s still only in the early stages, but important work tied to the completion of Collier County’s first Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) is happening.

And from now until the end of the project (estimated completion according to the Florida Department of Transportation is mid-2027), motorists can expect changes in traffic flows so different tasks can be completed.

This includes the overnight ramp closure of the northbound I-75 ramp at Pine Ridge Road (exit 107). It will be closed during the during the nighttime/overnight hours of 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1 to 6 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2 for crews to install drainage as part of the I-75 at Pine Ridge Road Interchange Improvements project.

Alternate route at I-75 exit 107: What to know

During the closure, motorists should use Golden Gate Parkway (exit 105) to Livingston Road or Santa Barbara Boulevard/Logan Boulevard to access Pine Ridge Road.

FDOT asks that motorists please use extra caution and follow detour signage or seek alternate routes. 

Law enforcement will be on-site to assist motorists during the closures. These activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen conditions.

According to FDOT:

The interchange improvements include the construction of a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI), which will significantly reduce delay on Pine Ridge Road, and reduce the number of conflict points to improve overall safety for all users. The DDI also offers the ability to accommodate future traffic volume growth. This project has been advanced as a part the Moving Florida Forward Infrastructure Initiative.
