(Editor’s note: This story has been updated to add new information. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said that Tiger Woods was arrested and charged with driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.)
Legendary golfer Tiger Woods was arrested after being involved in a car crash in Jupiter Island, where he lives in Florida.
The crash occurred just after 2 p.m. in the 200 block of Beach Road, Martin County sheriff’s officials said. Authorities said two vehicles were involved in the rollover crash. Sheriff John Budensiek said the 50-year-old golf star was charged with DUI and property damage and taken to Martin County Jail. Budensiek said neither he nor the other driver were injured.
Woods had just returned to competitive golf for the first time since Achilles and back surgeries cost him the entire 2025 PGA Tour season. He played March 24 in the TGL finals in nearby Palm Beach Gardens nearby with hopes of playing in the Masters, which starts April 9.
Where is Jupiter, Florida? Where did Tiger Woods crash?
The crash occurred in the 200 block of South Beach Road in Jupiter Island, a stretch of land between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean near the Martin and Palm Beach county border in South Florida. Woods has lived on Jupiter Island since 2007.
Woods nearly lost his leg in a rollover crash in 2021 in California and was in a single-car crash backing out of his driveway at his Orlando-area home in 2009. Woods also was arrested in 2017 on charges of driving under the influence in Jupiter.
