The Post's Boys Athlete of the Week: King's Academy's Asher Smith wins Week 3

Congratulations to The Palm Beach Post’s Week 3 Boys Athlete of the Week winner of the 2025-26 school year: Asher smith of King’s Academy swimming.

The senior garnered 691 votes to win 67.99 percent of the popular vote during the voting period of September 1 to September 5.

Smith took first place in two individual events as well as his relay races to lead the Lions to the Christian School Invitational championship.

The senior has since placed first in the 50-yard backstroke, his strongest event, at Indian River.

This year, The Post has two athletes of the week, and thus, two different polls. We have a boys athlete and a girls athlete named each week, and fans may vote in both.

The polls will be open until noon each Friday, and we accept nominations for each week on Sunday at 6 p.m. at the end of each week of performances.

Nominees have the opportunity to win a Palm Beach Post Athlete of the Week shirt, which will be mailed to winning recipients.

Have someone you’d like to nominate? Send an email to Alex Peterman with The Palm Beach Post sports at apeterman@gannett.com including the athlete’s name and stats by Sunday at 6 p.m. each week.

Alex Peterman covers high school sports for The Palm Beach Post. He can be reached at apeterman@gannett.com.
