Not everywhere, but the world’s most beloved mystery meat has emerged at select restaurants in different regional areas, “hitting cities like Miami, Dallas, Cleveland, St. Louis, Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles and more,” according to a Nov. 11 release from McDonalds.

The iconic sandwich began popping up in some markets last week, according to sightings reported on the user-submitted McRib Locator website, which as of Nov. 11 shows 56 possible locations so far.

Check your local McD’s for availability or use the McDonald’s app and see if it shows up in the menu.

The McRib will be available, as always, for a limited time.

What is in the McRib from McDonalds?

The McRib is a boneless meat patty shaped to resemble a rack of ribs. It’s made from pork (mostly ground pork shoulder), water, salt, dextrose, and rosemary extract and served on a bun with barbecue sauce, pickles and onions.

Budget your diet for 520 calories per.

McDonald’s launching holiday pie

Also just in time for the holidays, McDonald’s is bringing back its holiday pie.

The holiday pie features a creamy, smooth custard nestled in a buttery crust glazed with sugar and topped with rainbow sprinkles. It will be available Nov. 14, for a limited time.

When was the McDonalds McRib invented?

The same food genius who created the Chicken McNuggets in 1979, McDonald’s executive chef Rene Arend, followed up with the McRib two years later based on a restructured meat process that University of Nebraska professor Roger Mandigo developed for the military.

The sandwich first appeared in 1981 in Kansas City, Kansas, and became available nationwide the following year. It returned periodically but was officially “retired” in 2005 in its first “McRib” farewell tour. There were several “farewell” tours after that, plus regional appearances and releases for special events such as the 2012 London Olympics.

In 2020, after an 8-year absence, McDonalds brought the McRib back to an annual limited-time release in the United States

How popular is the McRib from McDonalds?

According to online gaming site Spin Genie, which analyzed Google search data, the McRib, which appeared on the McDonald’s menu from 1989 to 2005, is the most popular discontinued fast food item.

From July 2023 to June 2024, the McRib received significantly more searches than its closest competitors, including Chipotle’s Carne Asada, Domino’s Brooklyn Style Pizza and Taco Bell’s Enchirito.

Where can I find a McDonalds’s near me in Florida?
