Tallahassee Regional is one of the easiest to Softball America

The FSU softball team is the No. 5 national seed in the 2025 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament and is set to host a regional for the 11th straight season.

They are joined by the No. 2 seed Auburn Tigers, No. 3 seed USF Bulls, and No. 4 seed Robert Morris Colonials in the Tallahassee Regional. The double-elimination tournament is set to start on Friday at JoAnne Graf Field and will last until Sunday as the teams battle for a spot in the Super Regionals.

Softball America ranked all 12 regionals by how hard they will be and Brady Vernon is quite confident in the Seminoles. He ranked the Tallahassee Regional as the fifth easiest and thinks they “should be fine.”

“Auburn has had too many pitching woes this season for the Florida State offense not to find success. USF has a fun group, but Florida State has been one of the best teams all season long,” he added.

The Seminoles are 46-9 and won the ACC Regular Season Championship after going 18-3 in ACC play. They also went 18-3 at home during the season and have lost just one home game since March.

FSU will face Robert Morris on Friday. The Colonials went 30-16 and won the Horizon League Championship for the first time in program history. It is their first time making the tournament since 2005 and fourth overall.

Auburn went 30-22 in the SEC. It is their fourth time playing in the Tallahassee Regional in the past seven seasons and they will be looking for revenge after FSU beat them in last year’s championship game. USF is looking to upset the Tigers and is coming in with some momentum.

The Bulls won their first-ever American Athletic Conference Tournament Championship and are 43-14-1. It is their 18th time making the NCAA Tournament and first since 2022, when they also made the Tallahassee Regional.
