As of 8 a.m. on July 19, officers were at the scene of a shooting at the 3200 block of North Monroe near the Baymont By Wyndham Suites. The watch commander said police were called after reports of gun shots being heard. Police found no people with injuries or damage to structures.

Police also responded to an earlier shooting somewhere on Dixie Drive Sunday before dawn. The watch commander said a vehicle and “maybe an apartment” were hit, but police found no victims of gunshot wounds and the suspects had fled the scene.

So far in 2026, 11 people have died and 25 people have been injured in 33 shootings, according to a Tallahassee Democrat analysis of gun violence that tracks incidents involving injury, death or a clear risk of serious harm.
