East Lee County swept the team regional titles, taking the Traditional crown 27-25 over Jupiter and the Olympic title 35-31 over Jupiter.

Aubrey Rogers 1, St. John Neumann 0: Sophia Escobar had 7 strikeouts and allowed 3 hits and a walk in the loss and went 2 for 3. Jolie Barth hit a triple and Cece Spencer a double.

Baseball

St. John Neumann 3, Braden River 2: Darien Jester, Gus Fusco, and Peyton Frontino scored for Neumann in a 3-run second inning. OB Osceola and Michael Hough combined to allow 7 hits, 2 walks, and one earned run with 10 Ks.

Flag Football

Estero 6, South Fort Myers 0: Savannah Knoerlein had 133 total yards (10 catches for 74 yards, 3 punt returns for 59 yards) and 3 tackles. Katie Kuieck had 4 catches for 19 yards and 1 TD. She also added 3 tackles on defense, all TFL’s. Kylie Eaton was 18 for 24 passing for 92 yards 1 TD and 1 INT. On defense, Mia Ghannam had 3 INT’s. She has 6 on the season. Rayne Woods had 8 tackles with 3 TFL’s. Taylin Beckman had 6 tackles, 2 TFL’s and 1 INT.

Softball

St. John Neumann 11, Golden Gate 0 (5 Inn): Sophia Escobar picked up her 500th career strikeout among the 11 Titans she struck out in the one-hit shutout. She also went 2 form3 with an RBI, 3 runs and 2 stolen bases.

Palmetto Ridge 4, Cypress Lake 3: Teagan Delashmet collected three hits and an RBI and struck out 14, surrendering only three hits and three runs while walking one.

Seacrest 12, Lely 2 (5 Inn.): Eighth-grader Caroline Porter earned her 200th career strikeout, allowing 4 hits, with 4 strikeouts and 1 earned run and also had a double with two stolen bases. Jolie Booth was 2 for 2 with 4 RBI, including a double and triple.

SFCA 15, CSN 0: Natalie Recker was the winning pitcher for the King’s. She struck out 5 and allowed no runs in 3 innings of work. Candace Chime led the King’s with 3 hits and 2 RBI. Adrianna Thorne and Natalie Recker also contributed 2 hits for the King’s. Braelyn Davis also had a home run and 2 RBI.

Baseball

SFCA 10, Lely 1: Ian Long went 2 for 3 with a double and 4 RBI. Lawson Polhill went 1 for 2 with an RBI and 3 runs.

St. John Neumann 12, Lemon Bay 2: Cole Travers and Logan Baratta (triple) each drove in 2 runs and scored twice while Nick Frontino hit a home run with 2 RBI and a run scored.

Boys Weightlifting

REGION 1A-4

Oasis’ Adriel Rodriguez (unlimited weight class) placed 1st in the Olympic category (400 total pounds) and 6th (470 total pounds) in the traditional category.  Mason Sargis (183 weight class) finished 6th (390 total pounds) in Olympic and 5th (480 total pounds) in traditional.  

Bishop Verot’s Justin Davis won the 183-pound (505) Olympic title and Denis Forte was second in unlimited with a 390. Davis also won the traditional title with a lift of 565. ECS’ Bryce Valiquette and Carson Joslin were 1-2 in the Olympic 238-pound division with totals of 455 and 435, respectively, and also in traditional with lifts of 555 and 550..

Boys Lacrosse

Riverdale 6, Immokalee 5: Gavin Adorno scored 3 goals, Dante Youd had 2 and Jaxen Couse 1 goal and 1 assist for Riverdale. Max Halbrehder made 10 saves.

Softball

Riverdale 8, Moore Haven 1: Jamie Penia had 2 hits with a home run and 3 RBI. Aleaha Acosta had a triple. Olivia Sutt and Samaya Rodriguez each had a hit.

TUESDAY

Baseball

Fort Myers 12, Naples 0: Madrid Tucker (1 RBI) and Luke Fleming (triple, 2 RBI) each went 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored, while Michael Magas had a double, triple and 4 RBI. Brady Best picked up the win, allowing 2 hits and 3 walks with 1 K over 5 innings.

ECS 5, LaBelle 4: Boston Gibbs threw a complete game for the Sentinels, allowing 7 hits, 2 runs, a walk with 4 Ks for the win. Harlan Haugen went 2 for 2 with a double, walk, run and 2 RBI. Ryder Lutz had a double and scored a run, Gavin Teeter scored and drove one in and Joey Karth had a double and 2RBI.

SFCA 8, South Fort Myers 5: Brady Moore went 2 for 3 with a double, 3 RBI, and a run and Dylan Plimpton went 2 for 3 with an RBI and 2 runs. Ian Long went 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs with 8 Ks. 

Northside Christian 1, St. John Neumann 0: Gus Fusco had two hits for Neumann and Darien Kester and Logan Baratta each hit a double. Owen Phypers and Michael Hough combined to allow six hits, one walk, and one unearned run with 8Ks in a losing effort.

Sarasota Riverview 11, Mariner 5: Trenton Taylor hit a two-run single for Mariner. Ryan Kotarski and Jacob Gorra each collected two hits.

Boys Lacrosse

Immokalee 9, Cypress Lake 7: Oliver Salazar netted a hat trick, and Cherlin Michel scored two goals and had 3 assists for Immokalee.

Girls Lacrosse

Cape Coral 9, Cypress Lake 2: Bailey Bianchi scored four goals for the Seahawks with lone tallies from Alexis Meyers, Alex Sanchez, Mackenzie Scully, Sophia Vianest and Rachel Weaver. Lilly Witz and Kamryn Hayes scored for the Panthers.

Estero 15, Aubrey Rogers 11: Kiarah Getchell and Samantha Moore led the Wildcats with 5 and 4 goals, respectively. Marissa Masink had a pair of goals and 3 assists. Goalie Avabella Falcone had 13 saves as Estero won its fifth straight.

Barron Collier 15, Bishop Verot 9: Lily Lockard led the Vikings with 5 unassisted goals. She also had 4 ground balls. Samantha Till had 2 goals, 1 assist and 9 draw controls. 

Softball

Gulf Coast 2, Barron Collier 1: Senior Taylor Stalling pitched a complete game, allowing only four hits and one earned run while striking out seven and walking none for the win. Junior Nelinka Lambcke was 2 for 3 with a double.

St. John Neumann 3, Oasis 0: Jesse Camejo (2 for 3), Jennifer Drake (2 for 4, 2 SB, 2 runs), Cece Spencer (1 RBI), and Jolie Barth each hit a double for Neumann. Sophia Escobar threw a complete-game one-hitter with 16 Ks. Meesha Neujahr and Kaitlyn McGee had hits for Oasis.

SFCA 15, Lely 0: Natalie Recker, Bella Gee, and Braelyn Davis each had a double for the King’s. Braelyn was also the winning pitcher, allowing no earned runs with 7 strikeouts in 3 innings. Candace Chime, Anastin Hanson, and Olivia Tyler each scored 3 runs.

Flag Football

Bishop Verot 20, Lake Placid 0: Mel Moreno completed 9-of-17 passes for 119 yards and 1 TD, while Cameron O’Halloran was 2 for 2 for 23 yards, had 3 rushes for 16 yards and 1 TD and 5 catches for 41 yards. Lila Dinkel had 1 rush for 6 yards, 2 catches for 54 yards, plus 5 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 interception. Daphne Dalton had an interception returned for a touchdown. Grace Riley had 4 catches for 46 yards

Girls Tennis

Bishop Verot 6, Aubrey Rogers 1: Freshman Sara Chrysler improved her record to 10-2 with a win over Maddie Schmieg, 6-1, 6-2. Fellow freshman Samantha Ellis edged Bianca Kisic 7-6, 6-4 on court four while court two freshman Summer Jacobs won 6-3, 6-2. Senior Sophie Rodriguez added the final singles win, defeating Taylor Green, 6-4, 6-3. Verot doubles teams Sara Chrysler/Summer Jacobs and Sophie Rodriguez/Samantha Ellis followed up the singles wins with victories on both doubles courts.

Boys Tennis

Dunbar 4, Mariner 3: Singles, 1. Aiden Persaud (D) d. Damien Gleason 3-6, 6-4, 14-12; 2. Neil Chaung-Saladin (D) d. Ryan Hunter 6-3, 6-1; 3. Carlos Gonzalez (M) d. John Courtney 6-3, 6-2; 4. Emanuel Barros (M) d. Garry Belcher 3-6, 6-0, 10-2; 5. Jayadev Kon d. Brody Bixler 6-4, 6-2. Doubles: 1. Chaung-Saladin/Kona (D) d. Huntr/Bixler 8-3; 2. Gonzalez/Barros (M) d. Courtney/Belcher 8-6.

MONDAY

Beach Volleyball

Port Charlotte 3, Fort Myers 2: Two of the area’s best beach volleyball squads duked it out Monday afternoon at the Midtown Beach Sports Complex.

With the match coming down to the No. 3 court, Port Charlotte’s Harlee Tudor and Angelina Oliveira rose up and made timely plays, once trailing 11-8 against the Fort Myers tandem of Erin McDowell and Isabella Higby, before storming back to end the match on a 7-0 run.

The Pirates handed the Green Wave their first loss of the season after being ranked as high as second in Florida, winning 3-2.

Fort Myers cruised to wins on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts, as Gabby Dwyer and Ashlee Tenkley have yet to drop a set this season after beating Nygeria Hart and Hanna Hall. Amber Englehart and Kasey Corr also won on the No. 2 court via sweep, taking down Kiera Hundley and Grace Parent.

The No. 4 and 5 courts were sweeps for Port Charlotte, which moves to 7-2 on the season. Fort Myers (6-1) will aim to get back in the win column on Friday against SFCA.

Oasis 16, Gateway Charter 0: Kaitlyn McGee hit a solid line drive into left center for an early grand slam. McGee had 6 RBI for the game. Meesha Neujahr hit an in the park home run.  Audrey Doan, Emma Neujahr, Madelyn Simison, Kyra Lavender, and Bri Davenport had multiple stolen bases. 

Sebring 5, LaBelle 2

Girls Lacrosse

Bishop Verot 15, Aubrey Rogers 8: Lily Lockard led the Vikings with 4 goals, 5 assists, and 5 ground balls. Addison Wolfe and Caroline Ward scored 3 goals each, while Daphne O’Hara and Liz Schlager added 2 apiece. Maggie Swift made 12 saves in goal. 

Barron Collier 24, Palmetto Ridge 0: The Cougars shut out the Bears on the road. Angie Juarez-Perez had four ground balls and three draw controls for Palmetto Ridge, while Chloe Walsh had one ground ball. Cara Nasa, Ana Lobaton, Kendra Pierre, and Arianna Perez combined for 14 saves in net.

Girls Tennis

FBA 5, Marco 2: Court 2: The Lions won the singles courts 2-5 with wins from Charlize Flornes, Madeline Rigsby, Sunny, and Isabeli Oliveria, respectively. FBA also took second doubles with Kaylee Bates and Quinn Sullivan.

Boys Tennis

Oasis 7, SFCA 0: Oasis singles winners were Nate Orozco, Michael Abreu, Brendan Overbaugh, Emmanuel Diaz, and Luciano Demaglhaes and the winning doubles pairs were Nate Orozco/Michael Abreu and Tommy Tarsia/Brendan Overbaugh.
