We have reached another week into the Summer Scouting process, and that means we have wrapped up watching the top linebackers in the class heading into the Fall.
In total, I watched 13 linebackers and will be sharing some notes on the top 10. I will share all the names at the end, but when we discuss the top options of this linebacker class, there are some top-end pieces for teams to target. The Summer is all about being positive with players, with some notes to keep in mind when we watch them in the Fall.
We have beaten around the bush enough, though, let’s show our rankings.
1) Sammy Brown, Clemson
Scouting Report
“Sammy Brown was the last linebacker I watched in the class, and he may be the best heading into the 2026 season. He is a blast to watch as he roams the middle of the field and is in position to make a play on the ball on the ground or in the air.”
2) Rasheem Biles, Texas
Scouting Report
“Rasheem Biles is one of the more athletic linebackers I have watched this Summer as I work through the back half of the group. Compared to everyone else, his athleticism just pops off on film.”
3) Rolijah Hardy, Indiana
Scouting Report
“Elijah Hardy is the linebacker version of D’Angelo Ponds for the Indiana Hoosiers in 2026. If he were three inches taller, he might be a first-round prospect for me.”
4) Ben Roberts, Texas Tech
Scouting Report
“Ben Roberts has one of the more entertaining games of film from any prospect this cycle against BYU in the Big 12 Championship. Beyond just that game, and in that game, he showcases top-tier pass overage ability for the position.”
5) Austin Romaine, Texas Tech
Scouting Report
“The Texas Tech Red Raiders are going to miss Jacob Rodriguez, but it will be interesting to see Austin Romaine step into the role. He will be able to bring awareness, some decent pass coverage, and run support to the middle of their defense.”
6) Raylen Wilson, Georgia
Scouting Report
“Raylen Wilson is a dynamic defender for the Bulldogs who showcases promise as a linebacker and pass rusher equally.”
7) Cade Uluave, BYU
Scouting Report
“Cade Uluave is a fun linebacker prospect because he plays the position with a chip on his shoulder. He is a physical player who is a tad undersized but plays with that edge to let the offense realize that, despite his size, he can patrol the middle of the field.”
8) Tony Rojas, Penn State
Scouting Report
“Tony Rojas is a fun linebacker prospect in the 2027 class. He is explosive, makes quick decisions, and provides ample run support for the Nittany Lions.”
9) Christian Alliegro, Ohio State
Scouting Report
“Christian Alliegro is a physical linebacker prospect who has some limitations in his game. He is really physical in the middle of the field for the defense, he closes quickly on ball carriers, but his best tool is his range.”
10) Drayk Bowen, Notre Dame
Scouting Report
“His athleticism pops off on film whenever he is working his way in coverage and supporting the run. He is rangy and efficient in covering ground in defending the run and pass, not quite sideline-to-sideline range, but darn close.”
