St. Andrew Baptist Church in Panama City is once again turning faith into action by supporting area students through its annual “GO Day” school supply drive. This year’s initiative supports students at Lucille Moore and Merriam Cherry Street elementary schools.
Over the past two years, “GO Day” has provided more than $10,000 worth of school supplies, the church’s news release reported.
“St. Andrew Baptist Church created ‘GO Day’ so we could reach into our community with the love of Jesus Christ in a very tangible and impactful way,” Janey Pitts, the church’s mission minister said in the announcement. “By purchasing weekend backpack items for children who otherwise could go hungry and school suppliesfor classroom support, we hope everyone sees and feels they are loved by their Creator.”
