As bold as Brett Pincomb was about attacking Jacksonville women and telling police about it, he spared the victims and judicial system a trial by pleading guilty to multiple charges and being sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Per the negotiated plea, his term will be followed by 10 years of sex offender probation and a lifelong designation as a sexual predator, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
On July 15 the 31-year-old pleaded guilty to five counts of sexual battery, two counts of attempted sexual battery, aggravated battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment for four separate attacks against women.
From May 13 to 15, Pincomb engaged women online through an escort dating service and invited them to his Deerwood apartment. He would then pull a knife on them, threatening to hurt or kill them if they did not comply. In one of the attacks, a woman fought back and was able get control of the knife and get away.
She provided the knife to police, who located Pincomb outside the apartment complex. He openly discussed his intentions and additional cases where he used a knife or Taser, according to one of the arrest reports.
The Sheriff’s Office believed there may have been other victims as well. Sexual assault victims can call the Sheriff’s Office Special Assault Unit directly at (904) 630-2168.
