Scottie Scheffler remains the World’s No. 1 golfer, with a chance to win the 2026 Masters. And what better way to cap a momentous past few weeks, as he and his wife have welcomed their second child, than to claim his third Green Jacket?
Scheffler’s bogey-free 65 on Saturday put him in position to threaten the leaders on Sunday at the Masters. He woke up this morning four shots off the pace, chasing the No. 2 and 3 players in the world, defending champion Rory McIlroy and the 2026 Players Championship winner Cameron Young, at 11 under.

Scottie Scheffler score today at Masters 2026
Scheffler jumped right out of the gate with a birdie on the first hole in his final round. His splendid approach to the green left him about 8 feet from the hole and Scheffler did not waste the opportunity to score, closing to within three shots of the leaders.
Then after a par on the second hole, Scheffler worked himself into the greenside bunker on the third hole. But Scheffler had no problem with the up-and-down. The bunker shot landed and then rolled about 6 feet away. He then pounded his putter for a birdie 3 to get to within two shots of the lead.
Scheffler then reeled off nine straight pars, with the play on 6 and 7 proving to be especially tricky. He was out in 2 under 34.
There may have been some momentum loss while his playing partner, Haotong Li, made a 10 on the 13th hole. Scheffler had a chance for birdie on that hole, but his putt sailed wide left and Scheffler had to settle for another par.
He had 11 straight pars, but playing in the trees seemed to wake him up. He had to navigate pines on his second and third shots on the par-5 15, but that third shot found the green and set him up for a long birdie putt. And this time, Scheffler sank it to get to 10 under for the tournament.
He followed that up with a tee shot on 16 that landed on the green and trickled left toward the hole. Then Scheffler sank another birdie putt from about 12 feet out to get sole possession of second place.
However, that’s where the momentum seemed to run out of gas for Scheffler. He parred the 17th and then, knowing he had to score on 18th, his second shot landed on but rolled off the green. He had to settle for par and a bogey-free 4 under 68 on the day and, for the moment, the clubhouse lead.
