San Francisco Giants select Stetson 3B Isaiah Barkett in Round 10 of 2025 MLB Draft

Isaiah Barkett and Lorenzo Meola will remain teammates.

After spending the last two years together as members of the Stetson Hatters, both became San Francisco Giants Monday, July 14. San Francisco chose Barkett, a third baseman, in the 10th round with the 296th overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft.

The Giants snagged Meola in the fourth round.

What does Isaiah Barkett bring to the San Francisco Giants?

After playing his freshman season at North Carolina State, Barkett transferred to Stetson and immediately starred.

As a junior in 2025, he served as the leadoff hitter on the Hatters’ NCAA Tournament team. He made the Auburn Regional All-Tournament Team.

In 54 games, he racked up a .389 batting average and .959 OPS. He laced 16 doubles and two home runs with 33 RBIs and 60 runs. Barkett also stole 32 bases.

He assembled an 18-game hitting streak and finished second in the ASUN with 86 hits.

The 21-year-old stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 186 pounds. His dad is Andy Barkett, who played for the 2001 Pittsburgh Pirates and was a Boston Red Sox coach when they won the World Series in 2018.
