The PGA Tour moves on to the Rocket Classic this weekend at Detroit Golf Club. The defending champion is Cam Davis.
Following the Travelers Championship, the field is not quite as strong with most of the world’s top players staying home.
The tournament debuted in 2019, replacing the Quicken Loans National on the PGA Tour schedule. It is the first PGA Tour event to be held completely within the city limits of Detroit.
The course is 7,370 yards, and Tony Finau holds the tournament record of 262.
Davis, 30, who hails from Australia, has two PGA Tour victories on his resume, both here. He started 2025 with top-20 finishes at three of his first four events, including a T5 at Pebble Beach. Since then, he has missed seven cuts, is coming off a T-57 at the Travelers and is ranked 72nd in the world.
Rocket Classic picks
Collin Morikawa: Despite his slump on U.S. courses – he’s not won on American soil since 2021 – he’s one of the favorites. Perhaps it’s his second-place finish (in a playoff to Jupiter’s Rickie Fowler) here in 2023.
Keegan Bradley: Coming off his victory last week, Bradley will be seeking to keep the momentum going. Bradley rallied to win the final Signature Event of the 2025 PGA Tour schedule in dramatic fashion. He was down one shot heading into the final hole last Sunday and made birdie while Tommy Fleetwood bogeyed.
Chris Kirk: A darkhorse pick but there are reasons some oddsmakers like him. For one, he’s coming off his best finish of the season, tying for 12th at the U.S. Open. He has finished 21st or better in his last five tournaments in Detroit, gaining nearly 15 shots combined on approach over the last four years.
Rocket Classic favorites, odds
Collin Morikawa, a two-time major champion, is the 12-1 favorite on the PGA odds board. Despite coming off a victory at the Travelers Championship, Keegan Bradley is the second choice at 16-1. Others to note: Patrick Cantlay (18-1), Tony Finau (40-1), Rickie Fowler (40-1) and Max Homa (75-1).
