The FSU Seminoles have hired Zach Arnett as an analyst to the coaching staff, according to a report from Brendan Sonnone of Noles247. He will reportedly be helping the defense.
Arnett served as Mississippi State’s head coach from 2022-23 and has experience with FSU defensive coordinator Tony White. Arnett played linebacker for White at New Mexico during the 2008 season.
He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at San Diego State from 2011 to 2013. He was promoted to linebackers coach in 2014 and to defensive coordinator in 2018, a role he held for two years.
The Syracuse Orange hired him on Jan. 11, 2020, as defensive coordinator, but on Jan. 22, he left to take the same job at Mississippi State. He was named the head coach in 2022 after the passing of Mike Leach and was fired during the 2023 season.
He served as an analyst for Ole Miss in 2025 before being hired as UNLV’s defensive coordinator on Dec. 30, 2024. He resigned from that role on April 7, 2025, due to personal reasons.
