Arnold High School’s Nova Ness was named the Bay County Girls Track and Field Runner of the Year after a record-breaking season. Ness set multiple school records in the 100, 200 and 400 meters. She won the county title in the 400 while finishing second in the 200 and third in the 100.
Mosley High School’s Micah Brown earned back-to-back Bay County Field Athlete of the Year honors following dominant performances in the long jump and high jump. Brown captured county titles in both events before finishing runner-up in the high jump at the district meet. She added another runner-up finish at regionals and earned a silver medal at the state meet with a 1.67-meter jump in the high jump.
Coach of the Year: Osmond Ashman (North Bay Haven)
North Bay Haven’s girls track and field team finished third at the county meet and fourth at districts. Gabrielle Killets led the squad with a standout season in the javelin, placing second at the county and district meets before winning the regional title. She capped her season with a sixth-place finish at the state meet.
