Ready to go Fourth and party? Here's what's on the summer food and fest menu in Brevard

In full glory reflected was the star-spangled banner of 1814, and we expect the same, as always, for Old Glory this Independence Day, not least from restaurants.

That ever-patriotic presenter of great Caribbean-style food, the Tiny Turtle, is first in with information about its Sofrito Smash Bacon Mac Burger Melt ($16.99 add $2 for bacon), which according to owner Kelly Lieneke is “going to be a big-un.”

Offered with fries for lunch and dinner to celebrate the week of July 4 and Cocoa Beach’s Centennial, it will include sofrito-infused smashed burger patties with white American cheese, pickles, scratch macaroni and cheese, the restaurant’s Creme Caribe signature sauce and potato sticks on sweet sobao bread.

Tiny Turtle is located at 249 Minutemen Cswy., Cocoa Beach. Call 321-446-7361.

Also, the surprisingly impressive and highly loyal Eggs Up Grill in Melbourne, had, when last we were there, the Red, White and Blue Waffle, a Belgian waffle topped with blueberries, strawberries and bananas. No word if it is still available, but the place had a flag on every table, which provided a lot of feel-good.

It’s located at 4100 N. Wickham Road. Call 321-775-3153.
