Rapper accused of shooting teen then performing at Florida night club

An Atlanta-based rapper is accused of shooting a teenager multiple times and then leaving the scene to perform at a Florida night club.

Donald Anderson, whose stage name is Jayy Wick, allegedly shot the unidentified 18-year-old in Panama City Beach on April 25, according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office. Following the shooting, Anderson took the stage at Vibez Night Club in Panama City, FOX 5 Atlanta reported.

Investigators tracked down Anderson, 26, in Atlanta and arrested him May 5. He’s awaiting extradition to Florida where he’ll face first-degree murder charges. It’s not clear if he has an attorney representing him.

“We will not tolerate this kind of violent behavior in Bay County. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are,” Sheriff Tommy Ford said in a statement. “If you come to Bay County to commit these crimes, we will find you and hold you accountable.”

Who is the rapper Jayy Wick facing attempted murder charges in Florida?

Born in Port. St. Lucie, Florida and raised in Georgia, Anderson’s single “Pork Chop Sammich,” has amassed millions of streams online.

He has said his life experiences, from homelessness to leaving college, have played a part in his music. Anderson has been gaining popularity recently because of his social media presence and music festival performances.
