Florida football fans rejoice: A major patch for College Football 26 went out July 24. There’s a lot that EA Sports fixed in its latest update, including a bug that let opponents take part in the Gator chomp.
The Orlando-based studio announced the title update on the Campus Notes page of game’s website July 22, giving players a rundown of what bugs would be addressed. Smaller patches were sent July 15, with some of the latest updates applying those fixes across all modes from Dynasty to Road to Glory and Ultimate Team.
CFB 26 came out July 10 (earlier for some who pre-ordered) to largely rave reviews as the follow-up to the cultural phenomenon that was College Football 25. It was the first college football video game since EA Sports discontinued the NCAA Football franchise in 2013 amid lawsuits over name, imaging and likeness rights. Now college players who opt into the game are compensated with $1,500 and a copy of the game. Coaches were added to this year’s version.

What’s included in CFB 26 update?
EA Sports made several changes to special team celebrations, including one that let players on the other team be a part of Gator chomp celebrations. It made for very funny videos, but would most certainly lead to fights on the field, perhaps between UF’s opponents that day.
Other special team celebrations got patched as well, including having Nebraska “throw bones” on defense only and putting Texas State’s cannon celebration in the right place. The patch also fixed an issue where cameras were blocked for certain animations.
Several updates were made to Dynasty mode, with some migrating to the offline version after being patched for online play July 15:

On the gameplay side, EA said it fixed an issue where players would freeze during hit-stick attempts, as well as one that prevented defensive stunts and twists from activating. It also addressed an issue in Road to Glory mode where a pre-order bonus was applied to a created player in their second season after redshirting.
Several updates were also made to Ultimate Team, including the introduction of Leaderboard Campaigns, limited-time competitions for specific programs with a small group of players. Event Lineup Building challenges will task players to build their best team within a set of requirements.
College Football 26 release date: When does CFB 26 come out?
College Football 26 is out now. The game celebrated its wide release Thursday, July 10 and was available Monday, July 7 for those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition or MVP Bundle.
College Football 26 price: How much does CFB 26 cost?
The Standard Edition of College Football 26 costs $69.99. The Deluxe Edition costs $99.99, and the MVP Bundle, which includes the Deluxe Edition of both CFB 26 and Madden 26, is $149.99.
Will College Football 26 come out on PC?
Like CFB 25, College Football 26 is available to play only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There are no known plans to make it available for PC gamers and those on previous-gen consoles such as Xbox One and PS4.
