The FSU Seminoles have landed several top targets in June, and they are looking to do so again on Friday. Three-star wide receiver Majay Thompson is set to make his commitment, and Florida State is a finalist.
They have some competetion for the Shelby, North Carolina Product, who is also considering the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Wake Forest does not normally recruit against the other finalists, but they are the in-state school and have been recruiting him longer than anyone.
FSU has 10 commitments in its 2027 recruiting class, but Sean Green is their only wide receiver. While they are only expected to sign a few wide receivers, the Seminoles do need to start filling out the class, and Thompson is one of their top remaining targets.
Thomposon had a productive junior season at Crest High School, helping them go 13-2. He caught 53 passes for 865 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 16.3 yards per catch. He also returned a punt for a touchdown.
Here’s everything you need to know about his recruitment before he commits.
Decision Time
Thompson is scheduled to make his commitment on Friday, June 19, at 3 p.m. ET.
The Finalists
His Recruitment
The Seminoles extended Thompson a scholarship offer on April 9, 2026, the same day he took his first visit to Tallahassee. He returned for an official visit on June 12, the final one he took before making his commitment.

My Pick: FSU Seminoles
Thompson’s recruitment has swung back and forth over the past month or so. For a while, it looked like Georgia and Alabama were in the front with Wake Forest lurking and FSU trailing. Alabama has since faded, with the Seminoles and Demon Deacons looking like the top two schools. The Seminoles seem to have the momentum currently and are my pick, but another change before he makes his decision would not be shocking.
