When customers at Phantom Fireworks in Daytona Beach check out their items, they are asked if they’d like to round up their bill to support local first responders and public safety.
Thanks to donations in Daytona and in the several Phantom Fireworks stores across the country, the company announced in July that it had raised $250,250 for local fire and police departments. And $1,250 of that money went to support the Daytona Beach Fire Department.
In a statement emailed to The News-Journal, the fire department thanked the national fireworks retail chain retailer “for their generous contribution to both our department and the community.
“Their donation will help purchase community resource materials, including fire prevention literature, plastic fire helmets for children, and much more,” the fire department’s spokesperson, Kylie Kidd, said in the statement.
The initiative is part of the Phantom Fireworks’ Round-Up Program, which began in 2024.
“Through the generosity of customers and the dedication of showroom employees, the company was able to make a meaningful investment in the communities that have supported its business for decades,” according to a press release from Phantom Fireworks.
Phantom Fireworks’ Daytona Beach store is located at 1226 S. Atlantic Ave.
Phantom Fireworks’ round-up donations a ‘thank you’ to first responders
Donating to local agencies are “a way of saying thank you to the local fire and police departments that work every day to keep our communities safe,” said Phantom Fireworks Vice President Ron Zoldan in the release.
“We are proud to give back to the areas that have welcomed and supported Phantom Fireworks throughout the years,” Zoldan said.
Phantom Fireworks is one of the county’s leading consumer fireworks retailer, with retail stores across 15 states. It is also the primary July Fourth product supplier to various retail chains in all states permitting the sale of consumer fireworks, according to the release.
Ahead of the anticipated July Fourth holiday celebrating the country’s 250th anniversary this year, the $250,250 donated in 2026 also marked the company’s “second coast to coast donation.” According to a 2024 press release, Phantom Fireworks’ first round-up donations totaled approximately $172,000.
“The success of the round-up campaign demonstrates the positive impact that can be achieved when customers, employees, and local organizations work together toward a common goal,” this year’s release added.
As an extra incentive for customers, the program also offered those who round up their checks to enter for the chance to win the “Grounds for Divorce fireworks assortment valued at $1,499.99,” according to the release.
