Pensacola’s newest Whataburger is nearing the finish line at Blue Angel Plaza, with a grand opening slated for 11 a.m. on May 14.
You’re going to want to get there early.
The first two guests standing in line at the 9510 W. Highway 98 restaurant, and the first two cars in the drive-thru, will receive a special gift box that includes free Whataburger for a Year, the company shared in a statement with the News Journal.
Even if you’re not in the first two lines, you’re still in the running for freebies. The first 80 guests in line and the first 20 cars in the drive-thru will receive a special Whataburger gift bag.
The West Pensacola restaurant was built with a “forward-thinking design,” including interior digital menu boards, a spacious dining room, and a state-of-the-art kitchen, as well as personal touches featuring local iconography on the walls, according to the company.
The opening team will consist of 60 employees led by operating partner Ciaria Butler.
“It will serve Goodness 24/7 along with bold, fresh, made-to-order burgers, its signature fancy and spicy ketchup, and unique shake and beverage flavors,” Whataburger shared in a statement.
Pensacola’s new Whataburger will be positioned in the same plaza that is anchored by Publix.
This Whataburger has been years in the making, with its initial proposal filed with Escambia County on Feb. 22, 2022.
The menu will be standardized with other locations but will also include limited-time offers such as the Bacon Steakhouse Double burger served with its signature tangy sauce, their Big Ranch chicken wrap, refreshing Strawberry Hibiscus Whatafresher and rich banana pudding milkshake.
