One person was killed and another person was seriously injured in a car crash May 7, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The collision occurred around 8:15 a.m. near the intersection U.S Highway 29 and Hood Drive.
A 96-year-old Pensacola man was driving a SUV southbound in the left turn lane of U.S. 29 near Hood Drive. Another motorist, a 33-year-old Pensacola woman, was heading northbound on U.S. 29 in a sedan.
The 96-year-old failed to yield the right of way to the sedan and made a left turn in front of the oncoming vehicle, according to the FHP release. The front of the sedan struck the right side of the SUV.
The driver of the SUV was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The 33-year-old was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
